About installing components on the web server

The GCF Remote Access Web Service is installed on a web server, which can be the Meridian Enterprise web server, and performs the following functions:

• Retrieves document status from SharePoint (through the GCF Web Service installed there)

• Executes GCF commands on documents owned by SharePoint: Claim Ownership, Get Latest Version, and Retract from WebPortal.

• Clears the InTransit property during transfers from SharePoint.
